What happens if I try to install Sophos Home Premium on an 11th computer?
The “Add Device” button will be disabled once you hit the 10-device limit. To add another computer, remove an existing one from your dashboard first, or purchase an additional license.
Can I install Sophos Home on Linux?
No. Sophos Home only supports Mac and Windows. Check system requirements for the full list of supported platforms.
Can I install Sophos Home on my mobile devices?
Premium users can install Sophos Intercept X for Mobile and reach out to support if needed. Free users can also install it, using our help centre for assistance. Keep in mind mobile devices run a separate product from Sophos Home, so they won’t appear on your Sophos Home dashboard. I've moved to another country - will Sophos Home still work?
Yes. Sophos Home updates from anywhere, and you can manage your security settings anytime through the online dashboard, regardless of location.
I run a small business with just a few computers - can I install Sophos Home there?
No. Sophos Home is built for private, personal, non-commercial use only. For business, commercial, non-profit, religious, or government use, we recommend trying Sophos Central free instead. Full details are in our Sophos Consumer Terms of Service.
I've purchased multiple licenses - can I combine them into one account?
No. Each Sophos Home Premium account has a fixed limit of 10 computers, regardless of how many licenses you buy. For more on how licensing works, see Activating Premium Licence Keys.
How many computers can I add to my Sophos Home account?
A Sophos Home Premium account covers up to 10 computers (Mac or Windows). If you’ve reached that limit and need to protect another device, you’ll need to either remove an existing computer from your dashboard or purchase a separate premium licence under a different email address. Note that two accounts can’t be merged — they’re managed independently.
Can I run Sophos Home without uninstalling my other antivirus?
Yes, but we strongly recommend against it, for the reasons above. Here’s how to remove your existing antivirus before installing Sophos Home.
Why shouldn't I run two (or more) antivirus programs at the same time?
Running multiple antivirus programs causes two main problems:
Resource conflicts. Two antivirus programs (or any security tools with antivirus-like features) will compete for system resources while actively interfering with each other. This slows down load times and can cause crashes — not something anyone wants.
Incomplete threat response. When two antivirus programs try to respond to the same threat simultaneously, neither may fully neutralise it. It’s a bit like two police agencies both trying to arrest the same suspect – they end up arguing over jurisdiction while the suspect gets away.
